The Texas A&M football weekly update.
The Aggies come into this game 5-1, which is where a lot of people predicted they would be. Not a whole lot of people figured they'd struggle with Army or have to pull one out of their hats to beat a Kansas team that may or may not be respectable (loss to Toledo, put up 600 yards against Nebraska).
Nobody expected Missouri to be unbeaten and nationally ranked.
The Tigers are led by Chase Daniel, a Texas boy that both A&M and t.u. ignored until it was too late in the process to do any good. And he's running the Texas Tech style offense better than the Techtards own QB, Graham Harrell.
Gulp.
In order to win this game, A&M has to do what they did in the second half against the Classless Clowns: hold on to the ball. In other words, Jorvorskie Lane has to be John Riggins (again) and Mike Goodson needs to be ready to dash and slash--and not fumble, thank you.
Looking for Courtney Lewis? Unless something has changed in practice this week, you won't. He's "injured," which is polite terminology for "he won't play with a boo-boo and he's pissed off the coaches and teammates."
I really think that A&M can hang with Missouri and may even be able to beat them. Of course, Mizzou is due for a letdown. Then again, so was Iowa State when they came into Kyle last year and rolled the Aggies like a cheap cigarette.
Either the Aggies win a close one or they get their doors blown off because they still can't play pass defense. For Franchione's sake, he'd better get a win; otherwise, the number of "statement games" on the schedule begins to dwindle...
